Make Your Own Winter Season Simmer Pot Kit and Enjoy the Scents of the Season

Recipe by Heather O'Shea

To dry the citrus and cranberries, set your oven on the lowest temperature setting. Check every hour or so to ensure they don’t become over-dry and discoloured.

Ingredients

  • Pine needles

  • Star Anise

  • Cinnamon bark and/or Cinnamon quills

  • Dried Cranberries

  • Dried citrus slices (oranges, clementines, lemons, grapefruit)

Directions

  • In a reusable container, layer the ingredients in the order listed
  • Add an instruction/ingredients card, and a bow or ribbon if desired
  • When ready to use, add the contents of the container to a pot of boiling water then reduce to simmer. Do not let the pot boil dry.
