Listen, I’m not about to tell you a long story about my childhood memories of baking bread with my grandmother, partly because that wasn’t my experience –But also because I know you just want the recipe for the easiest no-knead sandwich bread, and not my life story.
This bread is simple, delicious, and largely hands-off. Start in the morning and you’ll have a bubbly and soft loaf of bread with a golden, crispy crust by lunchtime.
So here it is, no “jump to recipe” button required.
Ingredients for one loaf:
- 3 cups flour
- 1.5 tsp salt
- 1.5 tsp sugar
- 1.5 tsp instant yeast
- 1.5 cups warm water
Mix all the ingredients together into a shaggy dough. Cover and let rise for 1.5 – 2 hours, then using two forks pull the dough from the sides of the bowl into a ball. Coat with about 1 tbsp of olive oil, and transfer to a greased loaf pan (do not grease if using an UltraPro loaf pan) and let rise for about another hour. Bake at 375 for 45 minutes (about 40 minutes if using an UltraPro loaf pan).
This part is important. I know you want to eat it right away, but please don’t tear up that beautiful bread by cutting it too soon! Wait at least an hour before slicing. You’re welcome.
