Use What You Have

Or maybe we should call this habit “Make the Most of What You Have” because making the most of what you have and avoiding waste as much as possible is going to lower your cost per use, and increase value & savings. A homestead mindset is a resourceful mindset. Some examples:

Save scraps that would otherwise have been thrown away and turn them into something new/useful/delicious.

Mend & repair when you can.

Shop your pantry before planning meals or going to the store.

Extend the usable life of what you have whether that’s fresh food, clothing, your vehicle, etc.
